Creamy gooseberry vinaigrette

A salad dressing to add sweetness to bitter salad greens
2 tbsp Plot 44 Gooseberry & Elderflower Jam
2 tsp wine vinegar
1 tsp dijon mustard
2 tbsp cream
salt and pepper to taste

Sundae Afternoon Tea

In a small ramekin dish (or a mug) stir a small amount of water into any jam (the Plot 44 Raspberry Jam
is particularly scrumptious) and microwave briefly. Dribble over ice-cream. Bliss.

Old School Steam Pudding

1 Sift 100g self-raising flour and a pinch of salt into a bowl
2 In a separate bowl, cream 100g butter and 100g caster sugar until light and fluffy, add two eggs, one at a time with a tablespoon of the flour mixture with each egg. Beat until combined
3 Spoon 3 tablespoons of Plot 44 strawberry and elderflower jam into the bottom of a buttered 750ml pudding basin, add sponge mixture on top
4 Cover with greaseproof paper, and tie securely with string
5 Place basin in pan of boiling water (halfway to top) for 90 to 120 minutes. Check water level in pan and refill as necessary
6 To serve, turn out on to warm plate


Core, peel and slice an apple and add to a foaming knob of butter in a saucepan, add two tablespoons of Plot 44 Blackberry and Apple Jam and heat gently for 5 mins with lid on. Spoon over pancakes or toast (I was served it over a toasted crumpet for breakfast - I know, I’m spoilt rotten).

Roast Lamb

When roasting a leg of lamb, spread some Blackcurrant Jam over the leg halfway through cooking (not too early or it will burn). Then, at the end of cooking add a spoonful of the jam with a glug of wine to the juices in the roasting tin to make a rich and fruity gravy. You can do this with our Cranberry Sauce with Port too.
